Trevenen Family

Researching:   See also https://trevenenfamilyinaustralia.wordpress.com/

Henry Trevenen was born about 1796 in Cornwall, England. He was a farmer in Perranuthnoe, a shopkeeper (Breage Churchtown, Cornwall) and later butcher (Payneham, South Australia).  He married Jane Andrew in 1825 and had 5 children (Jane, Henry, William Andrew, Mary and Eliza). They moved to South Australia (in separate groups around 1849-1851).

1. Jane married William Wear in 1882 and lived at Payneham (no children)
2. Henry married Eliza Behanna in 1845 (in England) (4 children)
3. William Andrew married Margaret Howard Birt in 1862 (8 children)
4. Mary married Fredercik Scarfe in 1850 (0 children?)
5. Eliza married John Pitt in 1855 (10 children)

Mine is the family of William Andrew and Margaret Howard Birt. William operated a butcher shop with his father Henry, at Marden. William died at on 2 Nov 1878 at 47 as the result of a fall from a horse. He was buried at St Matthew's on Kensington Road. His headstone is now near the church walls. Margaret bought up their children and later moved to WA with 4 of her children. She died in 1929. My Great Grandfather was a son of William and Margaret and purchased Givendale at Lenswood. SA.

I would be interested in information on the Trevenen and Andrew sides from Cornwall. I am able to track the Henry Trevenen through Perranuthnoe, Porthleven, Churchtown, Parish of Breage, Kerrier, Cornwall - then Payneham, South Australia and Jane Trevenen (nee Andrew) through Sithney, then Porthleven, then Churchtown, Cornwall, then Payneham, South Australia.  I have gone back on Henry's side to his Great, Grandparents (Edward and Mary). Jane's side only leads to her parents.
